A marvelous natural phenomenon: “Dragon Sucking Water” appeared in Zhoushan, Zhejiang on September 11th, 2008. The tornado sucked a water column on the surface of the sea with more than 500m high, which almost connected to the sky. The whole process continued to be about 10 minutes.

That’s great! A tornado is defined as a violently rotating column of air extending from a thunderstorm to the ground and a kind of strong wind vortex accompanying with cloud column of funnel shape, rotating with high speed. Tornado has the function of strong sucking, which can suck water in the sea or the lake off the surface and become water column connected with cloud. This is commonly called “Dragon Sucking Water”.
