Curriculum Ideology Added to the New Curriculum Syllabus Recently

In one blog posted in September “Curriculum Ideology “Human Factors Engineering” Case Records on Class Teaching“, curriculum ideological education involved in the teaching process of Human Factors Engineering was mentioned. In the recent revision of the new syllabus, the two points of ideological integration mentioned in the article have been included in the syllabus, and two more have been added.

When introducing the application of Human Factors Engineering in Chapter 1, through the introduction of the policy background of the rapid growth of Human Factors Engineering disciplines since the “19th National Congress”, we learned that socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era. The contradiction in our society is that between the growth of a better life and the unbalanced and inadequate development. Human Factors provide strong support for solving the major social contradiction in this new era. The current application of Human Factors Engineering research methods to the organization and management process encourages user-centered micro-innovation, improves user experience, and stimulates potential consumption. It demonstrates the supporting role of user experience design in promoting supply-side reforms and quality-strengthening national strategic actions. The education of the core values of socialism in the new era is integrated into the curriculum and the entire teaching process, highlighting value guidance, knowledge transfer and ability training. It helps students accurately grasp the basic national conditions, master the scientific world outlook and methodology, and promote the establishment of correct world outlooks and values.

In the process of the in-class experimental instruction, it is pointed out that the in-class experiments are human resource survey, eye movement evaluation and environmental evaluation, emphasizing the important significance of Human Factors Engineering research method to human resource management. Human resource management needs to use “people-oriented” values to carry out organizational design and evaluation, such as “user-centered”, “user experience”, “emphasis on users”, etc., which are closely integrated with user research. The experiments can help students build confidence in the broad application prospects of Human Factors Engineering, establish scientific thinking methods and the spirit of facing challenges in their studies.
